Manage Home & School in One Planner!

Homeschooling moms keep up with a lot. We prepare lessons, record grades, plan meals, track chores, process through projects, keep track of various appointments, jot down grocery needs...the list goes on and on! With a calendar here, a grocery list there, and a chore chart somewhere else, it can be hard to keep track of it all without something falling through the cracks.

The Well Planned Day family homeschool planner was created with that juggling act in mind! Designed to keep everything in one place, Well Planned Day allows homeschooling moms to see weekly lesson plans, appointments, and menu plans at a glance. Just flip a few pages to add to the running grocery list, then tear off the perforated tab when shopping time arrives. These features and many more help you manage life all in one place!

Well Planned Day: Yes, It's Possible!

10 TIPS FOR PLANNING SUCCESS

When we realize just how much conflict there is between our nice on-paper plan and the challenges of real life, it sometimes feels like it’s impossible to have a Well Planned Day, even with our pretty planners and brand new lesson plans. Success seems to hinge on everything going just so, and we all know that life rarely fits that description!

Seeing our planning turn into a successful day is possible. And yes, it requires a bit of effort and energy on our part. While that can seem overwhelming on the front end, those who make the investment quickly see the investment pay off as one successful day rolls into another. A little extra input on the front end can make an enormous difference as the days, weeks, and months roll out smoothly, even with the ups and downs of life.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS

Many years of parenting and homeschooling – including a good deal of trial and error! – have taught me several important planning tips. As I’ve implemented these tips in my own life, I have enjoyed the reward of successful Well Planned Days. Here are the first four tips to help you join me in that success.

1. The Right Mindset

Juggling the priorities of home and children can keep any mom busy, but add homeschooling in the mix, and it becomes necessary to make a plan. Over the many years of our homeschooling journey, I have learned that success doesn’t start with a plan or even with keeping to a schedule; instead, successful homeschooling begins with the right thinking!

Home and School Management

With five kids in seven years, by the time I started to homeschool, I had my hands full with nursing a baby, chasing a toddler, changing diapers, overcoming the endless mountain of laundry, and keeping the kids fed and clean! To homeschool effectively, I knew organization was a must.

In the classic type A mindset, I started my first year with a spreadsheet that would have impressed any accountant. However, it was overkill. By the second year, I had begun to relax and prioritize better. My planner was beginning to take shape, laying the groundwork for what would eventually become today’s Well Planned Day.

By the 5th year, I not only had my core structure, but I also decorated each page of the planner. Adding photos of the kids, it became a scrapbooker's dream planner. That year, my father encouraged me to print the planner for the homeschooling community, and I’m so glad I did.

I love hearing from moms how this planner impacts their daily life!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this planner all I need, or do I need other planners as well?

Well Planned Day can easily help you manage homeschool, home, and life all in one handy location! A Wall Calendar for family coordination is helpful, and some moms also like to use the On the Go for an easy carry-along option.

How can I plan for more than four children?

If your youngest is a preschooler, use the blank bottom rows on the weekly spread to keep track of what your child has accomplished. If all of your children are school age, many subjects can be combined, allowing fewer assignments to be required. You can also use a block schedule, assigning certain subjects only 2-3 days per week. A final alternative is to consider My Well Planned Day online planning instead of Well Planned Day. The printable reports allow you to print out the weekly assignments, which you can then store in a binder, if desired.

Is there an explanation for the Bible reading plan? It seems random.

The Bible reading plan assigns a specific literary genre to each day of the week. Check out the article "Through the Bible by Literary Genre" for more information!
