Using Your On the Go Planner

It’s exciting to unwrap a fresh planner. With a clean slate for the year, it’s the perfect opportunity to take some time and assess your planning goals and ideals.

On the Go is a versatile, purse-sized planner specially created to make planning easy and fun for the busy mom. With Scripture verses, encouraging tips, and a wide variety of planning options, On the Go truly helps you develop a habit of planning!

If you have just opened your brand new On the Go planner, you might want a quick little walk through its features. Or, perhaps you are still unsure about whether or not this is the planner for you. Well, take a look inside as I walk you through the delights of this busy life, purse-sized planner.

On the first few pages, you’ll find tips for using your On the Go planner and for developing a habit of planning. The On the Go planner was designed with busy moms in mind. Each section of this beautiful planner will aid you in managing home, meals, kids, and most importantly, structure that will allow you to take care of yourself. But, it only works if you put the time and energy into creating a solid habit of planning.

Will It Work For Me?

It was around the tenth year of homeschooling, as my youngest child turned six, that the Lord orchestrated events in my life to start a magazine and a publishing company. Over the previous ten years, I had used my Well Planned Day, Family Homeschool Planner to schedule lesson planning, calendar, and dinner menu. But now, I had a task list that seemed to grow daily and didn’t relate to my homeschool responsibilities.

With unique needs for appointments, to-do lists, and errands to run, I set out to develop a planner that could slip into my purse, coordinate a busy schedule, and help with home management. But with an opportunity to custom design my planner needs, I added some unique features!

I decided to include pages to manage projects like a yard sale, church events, my daughter’s wedding, a move, or even a home remodel. I even added monthly budgeting and my favorite spiritual encouragement – Jonathan Edwards’ “70 Resolutions.”

The On the Go planner is the result of this busy mom’s need for a tool that could help me get dinner on the table, get to the dentist on time, and remember to pay bills or send a birthday card.

On the Go is a resource that works beautifully for me. But, will it work for you? Here are some questions other moms have asked as they have contemplated what planner is best suited to their needs. The answers might help you, too!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this planner replace Well Planned Day, or do I need both?

If you only have one student, only have a preschooler, or are using a curriculum that has lesson plans in place, then On the Go is all you need! If you need to create lesson plans, however, Well Planned Day has better space for accomplishing that purpose. The other exception is if you have a high school student and can use the 4 Year High School Plan.

Can the On the Go planner work with my students?

The On the Go does not have academic pages like our high school, college, and student planners. However, depending on your young adult daughter's needs, On the Go is great for time management and daily tasks.

Is there blank note space?

In addition to plenty of beautifully designed pages for laying out projects and plans, On the Go has a set of blank note-taking pages at the beginning of the planner and an additional two-page spread of note pages in each monthly section.

How can I use On the Go in conjuction with Well Planned Day?

While Well Planned Day is designed to keep everything in one place, many moms love the flexibility of being able to carry an On the Go with them as well! It can be used to keep track of life beyond homeschooling, as a prayer journal, or as a work management tool for the work-at-home mom.

Is On the Go only for moms, or would it also work for single young women who are not in school?

Although many of the articles in On the Go were written with a busy mom in mind, everything about this planner is designed to be versatile. Women of all ages and from all walks of life have found On the Go to be very useful and applicable to their planning and organizational habits.

Fantastic Review by Kalee
This planner is absolute perfection if you're a visual person. I am a mom of 3 and ALWAYS on the go. With this planner I can schedule everything, manage the household income, grocery/meal plan and even schedule time for myself. I love it and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Perfect organizer for those unorganized! Review by Katherine
This is my second On the Go calendar. I found an old one and saw how much I used it, and ordered another one right away. It is small enough to carry around, yet large enough to see everything and make notes when needed. Planning for vacations will get done with this! Focusing on good habits like exercise and planning for Christmas sections are great. We have a lot of activities and events going on, so this is great for keeping organized and preventing double-booking. I highly recommend it! (Posted on 3/4/2020)
Like the new additions! Review by Rachel
I just received my on-the-go planner and homeschool planner for 2018-2019. I’ve used your products for the last 5 years. When I opened my new planners (one of my favorite days of the year!) I was very pleased to see the changes that have taken place! The additions this year seem like wonderful tools and I am excited to start using them. Thank you for producing such effective, well planned, usable planners! (Posted on 3/4/2020)
Love it! Review by Crystal
It is so useful! I greatly appreciate EVERY section in this planner. I have gone through several calendars trying to find one that meets my needs as a wife/mother and this one hits the marks. Thank you for providing such a wonderful tool! (Posted on 3/4/2020)
I like this because iteverything you need to manage the home... Review by Denise
This is the 5th year I'm ordering one. I'm hooked. I tried for a few weeks to try something else, and I feel all flustered and unorganized. I like this because everything you need to manage the home and life is in one book. Calendars, meals, projects, lists, daily and weekly projects and to do lists, appointments, money management if you want it, blank pages.....the list goes on. It looks like she has added even more. I highly recommend it. (Posted on 3/4/2020)
Perfect Daily Organizer Review by Nghtgrdnr
Bible verses and a Bible study, plenty of places for list, daily squares are large enough to write inside. (Posted on 3/4/2020)
Very Detailed Review by Anonymous
At first, this planner can be a little intimidating with how much it contains. But once you learn the planner and get familiar with the set-up, it is great.

I love the holiday planning section. (Posted on 3/4/2020)

Useful AND Pretty! Review by Dawn
This is my second Well-Planned planner. I had the Well-Planned Prayer. This year I decided to try the On the Go planner. I like the smaller size of it. I can't wait to start using it this July. It is such a pretty planner, yet incredibly functional. It has so many opportunities to help me plan many areas of life. The only thing I can say I was surprise/displeased with is the advertising inside both covers. It makes it too busy, and it's advertising something I have no interest in. I wish the advertisements were on perforated tear out sheets and the inside covers were just blank. Again, this doesn't mess with the functionality of this planner, but somehow it distracts from how pretty and organized it really is! Otherwise, it looks to be another great Well-Planned product!
