Does Busy Gal work well for teens and colleges students as well?
Busy Gal planners do not have academic pages like my high school, college, and student planners, so they aren't ideal for students. However, for older teens or young adults who want to learn time management skills beyond the school setting, Busy Gal can be great for time management and daily tasks.
What if I know nothing about time management? How do I get started using Busy Gal?
I’m the kind of person who just naturally loves planners. But even I had to learn what it meant to use a planner well. So, I understand that it’s not easy to just pick up a new planner and instinctively know where to start.
That’s why, starting this year, I’ve included the A.C.H.I.E.V.E. method in the front of Busy Gal. This goal-setting and planning system walks you through what it looks like to set goals, create to-do lists, and work through the daily and weekly process of planning.
It can feel like a lot when you first open your planner. But if you’ll walk through each step of A.C.H.I.E.V.E., you’ll be a planning pro in no time!
How far ahead should I plan?
As you walk through the A.C.H.I.E.V.E. method, you’ll learn how to lay out benchmarks for the year, helping you stay on track for reaching your goals. And, obviously, there will be appointments and events that you’ll know about weeks or even months in advance and will want to note in your planner.
But when it comes to building to-do lists and noting specific tasks, it’s best to plan just a week at a time. So many things can change from week to week, and it’s easy to get derailed if you plan out too much detail too far in advance. This is a sure recipe for discouragement!
It’s also a great idea to plan in pencil or use erasable pens. My favorites are the erasable pens that use friction technology to cleanly erase. This lets me color code my planner while also keeping it neat and tidy without a lot of scratch outs or scribbles. It’s much easier to stay on top of things if you’re not having to try to work around a messy planner!
