Frequently Asked Questions
Since I'm choosing a start month for my planner, will it still include a full 12 months?
Yes! Your planner will include 12 full months of planning pages, beginning with the month you choose for your start date.
Is this planner all I need, or do I need other planners as well?
Well Planned Day helps you easily manage homeschool, home, and life all in one place. But, that means it has to be a rather large planner, making it hard to just drop it into your purse and take it with you everywhere.
That’s why some moms like to also grab an On the Go for an easy carry-along option or to have a place to manage personal to-dos. This is especially true for homeschool moms who also manage a job, either inside or outside the home.
Finally, if you have students in middle school or older, you probably want to consider teaching them time management skills as well. I have planners designed especially for them, whether they are in middle school or high school.
Is it possible to use Well Planned Day to plan for more than four children?
The newest addition to the Well Planned Day line of planners is the Large Family edition of Well Planned Day! Designed to accommodate up to six students, this landscape planner contains the same school and home management combination that Well Planned Day users have come to know and love while also incorporating a more flexible weekly spread. This makes it easy for you to give each student their own column or use a column for each subject.
Our fully customizable planners allow you to choose a layout option that will accommodate 5-6 students while still enjoying the traditional portrait style.
Where do I write down all of my appointments and events?
Each monthly spread of Well Planned Day is designed to be spacious enough to allow you to keep track of all of your appointments and family events. You can also jot these down in the extra space at the bottom of your weekly spread to make sure it’s in front of you on a daily basis.
Does the Quick Custom planner include all of the same pages as the Original Homeschool Planner?
The Quick Custom planner will mirror the content of our Original Homeschool Planner, while allowing you to choose your preferred start month, design, coil size, and any desired inspirational options.
How do I get started using Well Planned Day?
I’m the kind of person who just naturally loves planners. But even I had to learn what it meant to use a planner well. So, I understand that it’s not easy to just pick up a new planner and instinctively know where to start.
That’s why I’ve included the ACHIEVE method in the front of Well Planned Day. This goal-setting and planning system walks you through what it looks like to set goals, lay out homeschool lesson plans, and work through the daily and weekly process of planning.
It can feel like a lot when you first open your planner. But if you’ll walk through each step of ACHIEVE, you’ll be a planning pro in no time!
What if I only have one or two children? Is Well Planned Day a good choice for me?
Although Well Planned Day is designed for up to four children, it is definitely worth the purchase even if you only have one or two students. Although you may not use all of the planning and benchmark sheets, you will find that the weekly spreads work just as well for one or two students as they do for three or four. If you still feel that the traditional Well Planned Day layout is too much for one or two students, you may also want to take a look at the fully customizable homeschool planner for 1-2 students or the Day by Day 6x9 planner.
How far ahead should I plan? Do I plan out a full semester? A full year?
As you walk through the ACHIEVE method, you’ll learn how to lay out benchmarks for the year, helping you stay on track for finishing your curriculum. But, my advice to homeschoolers is to only plan specific assignments one week at a time. So much can change from week to week. A lesson can take longer than intended or an unexpected interruption can throw you off track. It’s much easier to make adjustments if you’ve only planned one week at a time, using your benchmarks to help ensure that you are on target to reach your goals.

A Walk Through Well Planned Day
Your Quick Custom planner will look very much like the planner featured in the walk through vide . But, thanks to the wonderful personalization options of Quick Custom, there will also be a few key differences. Let's take a quick look at those before you watch the video so you'll be able to process the walk-through most efficiently.
- SEMESTER REPORTS: All semester reports and record-keeping will be included at the six-month points. For instance, if your planner begins in March, you will find first semester record-keeping forms between August and September and the second semester forms at the end of the planner, after February.
- QR CODES & TIPS: Quick Custom planners do not include monthly QR codes or other month-specific resources and extracurricular tips.
Armed with this information, you're ready to take a walk-through and see how your planner is ready to work for you!
Home and School Management
With five kids in seven years, by the time I started to homeschool, I had my hands full with nursing a baby, chasing a toddler, changing diapers, overcoming the endless mountain of laundry, and keeping the kids fed and clean! To homeschool effectively, I knew organization was a must.
In the classic Type A mindset, I started my first year with a spreadsheet that would have impressed any accountant. However, it was overkill. By the second year, I had begun to relax and prioritize better. My planner was beginning to take shape, laying the groundwork for what would eventually become today’s Well Planned Day.
By the 5th year, I not only had my core structure, but I also decorated each page of the planner. Adding photos of the kids, it became a scrapbooker's dream planner. That year, my father encouraged me to print the planner for the homeschooling community, and I’m so glad I did.
I love hearing from moms how this planner impacts their daily life!
NOTE: This video is an overview of the Well Planned Day Original Family Homeschool Planner. While Quick Custom planners follow the same format as the Original Well Planned Day, the personalization components introduce minor changes. Additionally, Quick Custom planners do not include monthly QR codes or other month-specific resources and extracurricular tips.
